Climbing instruction is absolutely essential if you are to get the best from your hobby, and do it safely. Whether you are intending to climb trees for fun , or walls with foot holds as part of a fundraiser project, or even one of the world's largest mountains for adventure, you need to know what you are doing. And understand why you are doing it. It is no good just doing what feels right at the start, because that could lead to muscle strain and premature tiredness. If your interest is strong, you might put in some serious structured learning time. Whether you are exhilarated by the sport or not, you do want to learn how to do it safely.

It will shorten your learning curve, and if you are paying an instructor by the hour you will be able to get a lot more into that time. When you are at the stage of approaching a professional instructor, you should already have the basics known to the extent that they can be gone through very quickly, and you can almost immediately move on to the actual interactive tuition.

The tuition itself cannot be cut down, as it is absolutely vital to your success. This will obviously apply less if you are just looking for a relatively gentle hobby and are not going to be tackling anything too demanding, but if you have ambitions to take this any further you will clearly benefit from experience and guidance. If you plan to take this seriously, you need to get the best professional climbing instruction.
